Simon Cavelle, SCARIB DESIGN's founder and managing director has worked in the design industry for over 30 years, initially as a furniture designer and manufacturer later playing an active role on the board of the BDG (British Design Group). He then set up his practice in architectural and interior design and decoration in the early 1990's and continues to practice as a consultant with various design studios in London and overseas.

Heading up the academic side of a leading School of Design in London for over 15 years as Director of Studies, Simon has been key to the development of intensive design training in the UK. At the same time Simon was the Chairman of the IDDA (Interior Designers and Decorators Association) and oversaw the development of the organisation and became the founding Chairman of BIDA. He was the first elected chairman of the association and spearheaded the drive to promote British design globally.

Author, Broadcaster, lecturer and multi-disciplined designer he has been actively working as a member of the board of the IFI (International Federation of Interior Architects and Designers) for 4 years, stepping down in 2007.
